About

Welcome!

I’m Michael, and I live in the Dallas area with my wife and our four kids. We’re an outdoorsy family, always eager to explore new trails, go hiking, and camp under the stars.

I grew up in a small town in West Virginia, where my love for the outdoors began. As a kid, I spent countless hours backpacking, hiking, camping, snowboarding, and running. My running journey started around age 11, when my mom and I would drive to a nearby state park for trail runs a few times a week. I quickly fell in love with the sport, eagerly signing up for local 5k and 10k races.

What initially drew me to running was the competition—beating my previous times and pushing myself to go farther. But over the past couple of years, my mindset has shifted. Now, I run not just for the challenge, but because I enjoy being outside, clearing my mind, and escaping the daily grind.

Running has brought me countless benefits. It keeps me in shape, burns more calories than any other exercise I’ve tried, and leaves me feeling energized throughout the day. Mentally, it’s been a game changer—whether it’s a quick break during a hectic workday or a long morning run, it helps keep my mind focused and puts me in a positive headspace.
